'DayZ' Standalone Gets 2016 Final Release Date, Price Increase - Bohemia Shares 2015 Schedule, Plans Beta & Steam Community

According to a number of reports and an official announcement from video game development studio Bohemia Interactive, the survival horror MMO DayZ has an official release date for its standalone platform. Unfortunately for gamers hoping to play the official version of the popular Twitch streaming title, the release date is in 2016. Also, the price for the game has increased. In a new press release, Bohemia maps out all of 2015, with more Alpha updates and a Beta version as well, all leading to the 2016 release.

IGN points out that this first year of Early Access gaming for the title has been pretty successful, with Bohemia planning a ton of new developments for 2015.

Other websites also point out that we'll be seeing a price hike by 2016, but you can purchase the game now on steam for much less.

"You can expect a new price point for DayZ which will be 34.99 USD," the press release states, according to Polygon. "This is part of a gradual price change as we progress with the development, and reach the goals that we set for the project. We would like to avoid a sudden increase in price once we hit the final release version. If you want to start surviving in DayZ, then now is the best time to get involved."

Meanwhile, in more recent news, DayZ creator Dean Hall spoke about the game being available on Xbox and PlayStaion consoles in the future.

"DayZ is definitely going to be a multi-platform title," he said, according to IGN. "That's the firm vision from Bohemia's standpoint. But we'll announce what all the other platforms are as we get to that point."
