New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan believes he will be fired after this season and has reportedly already cleaned out his desk ahead of what appears to be his final game in charge of the New York NFL team. As the Jets prepare for their final regular season game of 2014 - against AFC East rival the Miami Dolphins - Rex has revealed that he expects to be fired by Monday. According to analysts, the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears are all in line to appraoch the coach if he's fired.

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, Rex has told friends that he expects to be fired from the Jets head coaching position by Jets owner Woody Johnson following Sunday's season-ending game. After four years without making the playoffs, it shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

As Sports Illustrated point out, as New York's head coach Rex "has led the Jets to a 45-50 record over nearly six seasons."
Yahoo! Sports's Jay Busbee adds that "it appears Ryan doesn't anticipate his tenure with the team will last much longer than the final horn."
Not only does he expect to be fired, but as Deadspin report, Rex has already cleared out his desk.

They add that the special consultant brought in by Jets owner Woody Johnson - former Texans GM William Casserly - "is also reportedly shopping around for a successor to Jets GM John Idzik."
As Bleacher Report's Matt Miller says in his NFL Power Rankings, it will leave the Jets in a precarious position and will have to use Week 17 to figure out what their next move is. "The team has one more week to evaluate quarterback Geno Smith and the upcoming free agents on the roster, but the reality here is that there could be an entirely new regime running things in New York very soon."
As to where Rex could end up next year if he is fired, NFL.com and NFL AM's Eric Davis says that the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons - who could both part with coaches Jim Harbaugh and Mike Smith after the season - would be good fits for the Jets coach. He also adds that Rex would be a great addition to CBS's NFL morning crew with Bill Cowher and Tony Gonzalez.
Yahoo! Sports also say that the Chicago Bears could also be a landing spot for Rex.
But, as Grantland's Bill Simmons says, if the Jets are going to fire Rex, fans of the other teams in the AFC East will welcome the move:
