What better way to start 2015 than in Miami with Pitbull? Well, if that floats your boat, he kicks off 2015 on FOX with Pitbull's New Year's Revolution with guests Enrique Iglesias, Fall Out Boy, The Band Perry, Becky G and the 'keep them away from Pitbull at all costs jailbait' Fifth Harmony. Striking a blow for skeezy bald guys with no discernible musical talent and a penchant for wearing sunglasses, Pitbull's New Year's Resolution will air at 9 p.m December 31 from Miami on Fox.
The "Fireball" 'singer' told Rolling Stone that he wants to put, um, partying in Miami on the map? "We're starting the year by making history," the rapper told he magazine. "We're bringing New Year's Eve down to Miami and giving New York a run for its money. Dick Clark created such an amazing platform - that's someone that I've idolized, and someone that we will never outdo, but it's an honor to be able to compete with him. That in itself is making history."
Well. It's not really... considering that there have been plenty of other New Years Eve TV specials. But good on him for overstaying what he does, something not typical of the rapper who referred to himself as 'Mr. Worldwide'.
The clearly delusional rapper, born Armando Christian Perez, added: "I'm very excited. What's better than ringing in the new year on a positive note? Instead of the ball drop, we'll have the ball going up. Everyone in the world will be partying, enjoying, losing their mind and escaping from all the negativity and problems in the world right now, for at least three-and-a-half hours."
According to the show's press release, "Mr. 305 himself will be performing as well heating up the beach and adding some flavor to the new year that awaits us. The smashing celebration will be going down on the FOX network staring at 8pm ET/PT, taking a break at 10pm ET/PT for the local newscast and resuming again at 11pm ET/PT."
As for Pitbull's New Year's Revolution's train-wreck chances, The Washington Post rank it as: Low to middling. Pitbull trots out some lame jokes when he's hosting anything (ahem, American Music Awards), but these performances should be fairly tame."
