Rex Ryan is the new Buffalo Bills coach, and he's started off with a bang: "Is thing on? It's about to be," said the coach in his introductory press conference. He predicted that he would take the moribund team to the NFL playoffs, but stopped short of guaranteeing a Super Bowl, instead guaranteeing the pursuit of it, as he also said that he will build the team into a bully. Rex also made sure to honor Buffalo's heritage, going out and drinking beers with franchise legend Jim Kelly the night before his press conference.

Rex went into his intro the way he wants his team to do so: "We're going into games expecting to win, regardless of who we play. "
Even AFC East Divisional foes, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots? "We're not afraid of anybody," said Rex.

"I'm not going to let our fans down. I'm not going to do that," Rex stated. "I know it's been 15 years since the Bills made the playoffs. Well, get ready man. We're going. We are going. The guarantee? Hey, am I going to guarantee a Super Bowl? I tell you what I will do, I will guarantee the pursuit of it."
As NFL.com's Dan Hanzus reports, Ryan included a shot at former Bills coach Doug Marrone, who left the team during a three day out window clause in his contract on New Year's Eve.
"This football team deserves a loyal coach and deserves loyal players," said Rex. "That's what we're bringing. Nobody's more loyal than me as a football coach."
As ESPN report, he's going to start with the team's defense. "Fourth in the league was probably a little disappointing," Rex said. "I know we'll lead the league in defense."
Rex also revealed to Direc TV's Rich Eisen Show today that he was also goign to return to head coaching, sating "I wasn't going to be a coordinator again. I was interested in the TV thing or I was going to be a head coach."

In addition to the press conference, Rex is off to a good start in Buffalo, last night sinking beers with Bills franchise legend Jim Kelly, whose wife Jill posted a pic of the two to her instagram:
"Well this friendship is off to a good start! A cold beer at The Big Tree never hurt anyone. Wish I could've listened in on the conversation!! Their smiles speak more than words. WELCOME to BUFFALO and Bills Country Rex Ryan. The Kelly Family is cheering you on!"

Either way, looks like Rex is settling into Buffalo quickly. Maybe he'll need another lap band?
