New England Patriots defensive linesman Vince Wilfork saved a woman from a car wreck on Sunday night following his team's AFC Championship Game win over the Indianapolis Colts,. Proving that he wasn't just a stalwart on the field but a hero off it too, the 325+ pound Wilfork lent a hand in rescuing a woman from a car crash, lifting her from her upturned car just before 1am on Monday morning. Wilfork and the Patriots play the Seattle Seahawks in the 2015 Super Bowl on Sunday Feb 1.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Wilfork simply "wanted to help," he told reporters on Monday. "I think anybody would do the same thing."
Police say they responded to a call at 12.45 a.m., and that a state trooper held the door of the car open while Wilfork lifted her put of the SUV, which was on its side.
"I saw the lady in there and asked her if she was OK, could she move. She grabbed my hand, and kind of talked her through [it]. It wasn't a big deal; it was seeing someone that needed help and helping. I was just trying to get her to safety."

As USA Today report, Police reported that the woman "was evaluated by emergency responders and then arrested on a charge of operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle."
According to the reports, Wilfork told media that he and his wife Bianca didn't witness the accident, nor did they know how long it had been flipped over.
What he did, however, was talk Brooks through the process of getting out, and Wilfork believes that football and the rest of life had taught him not to panic in "certain situations."
"Through football and the course of life, I've learned to try to stay poised in certain situations and I'm pretty sure she was kind of scared," Wilfork told reporters. "The last thing I wanted to do was have her panic, and that was the first thing I told her, 'Don't panic. We'll get you out of here.' We got her out, the cops came and that was about it."
It also shook the Patriots big man, as he revealed that it made him realize just how precarious life is.
"You kind of reflect on life a little bit," Wilfork explained. "Here I am, we won the most important game of our season, and flashing right in front of your eyes is the life of someone who is in danger. ... After I drove off, my wife and I kind of talked in the car and said there are things that are a lot more precious in life than games or anything you accomplish in life. There are things out there that are more important. It showed last night, even though we won the AFC championship, it was life and danger. We were just happy to help."
"My job right then and there was to help the person in the car," he said. "If I see it a million times, I would do it a million times."
Well played, Vince. What a legend.
If you could have one person stumble upon your overturned car on side of road, Superman might be first. But Wilfork would be a close second.
