Cue the trumpets! Kathie Lee Gifford is back. The talk show host has been absent for much of the New Year during the fourth hour of the Today show, but the star was finally reunited with her bestie Hoda Kotb on the air earlier last week. While the star has Skyped into the program a few times during her leave, it hasn't been the same without her drinking wine next to Kotb at 11 in the morning.
Hoda took to her Twitter account to post a picture of her reunion with her co-host. The two were all smiles, as they saw each other for the first time in person in a month.

"Good am!!! Guess who is baaaaaaack?? @KathieLGifford xo," Kotb wrote in the caption.
So why was the star gone for so long? Well, according to USA Today, Gifford was spending time with her family in the nice warm weather of Florida.
"Here's the thing. Years ago, I got in my contract that I could do the show either from Florida or California in the wintertime. I never took anybody up on it. And then all of a sudden I realized I was old. And old people go to Florida in the wintertime," the star explained of her absence. "So I said to the producers, let's do the show from Miami."
While the network didn't do the show entirely from Florida, Kathie did Skype in to do the broadcasts.
She says her age and wanting to spend time with Frank and her mother played a big role in doing the show from the warmer locale.
"You know what? Frank's going to be 85 this year," the 61-year-old host explained. "My mother just turned 85. I'm close behind them."
We are so glad to have our Kathie and Hoda back together!
