ABC's 'Marvel's Agent Carter' Recap: ‘Valediction’: Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter Fights Season Finale!

The countdown to the final hour of Marvel's Agent Carter has begun on ABC. With Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper)'s life in danger and wanted by the Strategic Scientific Reserve, will Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) get her 'Valediction' against Leviathan in her first season finale?

During a radio show, which recounts Captain America's final hours, Peggy and the SSR visit the movie theater massacre. Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) and Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) discover the moviegoers had all killed each other. Daniel discovers the canister that leaked the nerve gas and accidentally sprays himself. 

After almost choking Jack to death, Daniel is knocked out by the police. Dr. Ivanchenko and Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan) get caught by a traffic cop after running past a red light. Daniel wakes up strapped to his hospital bed, remembering he wanted to kill everyone. With every gun pointed him, Howard Stark shows up at SSR headquarters and hands himself over.

Stark explains the history of the nerve gas, which was a failed military experiment. He will risk himself as bait to set a trap for Ivanchenko. Just as they are about to leave on a helicopter, Ivanchenko hears news about Stark, which makes him stay. While Carter and Stark argue, he steals back the vial of Captain America's blood. 

At the press conference, Jack tells reporter Howard has been cleared of all charges, calling him a hero. While Stark takes the mic, guns are suddenly fired. Stark is kidnapped while Peggy and Jack discover the shooter's location. With Stark taken hostage, Peggy and Jack realize the Leviathan's next target is Times Square.

Dottie smacks Stark with her gun because he doesn't remember sleeping with her. Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy) realizes Leviathan is going to steal one of Stark's planes to unleash the gas. At the air base, Howard still gets smacked around by Dottie. Because of his gas mask, Ivanchenko was the last survivor to witness what Stark's nerve gas could really do. Using hypnosis, Ivanchenko wants Howard to fly the plane and release the gas. 

Knowing they have little time, Jarvis gets in the plane while Peggy fights off with Dottie. During the fight, Peggy manages to throw Dottie out the window. Daniel and Jack confront Ivanchenko, who uses his hypnosis against them. Because of his ear plugs, Daniel knocks out Ivanchenko with one hit. 

Howard blames himself for not finding Captain America, but Carter knows they have to let him go. Howard snaps out of his hypnosis and is brought down safely by Jarvis. Peggy discovers Dottie is still alive. 

The next morning, Peggy is given a huge round of applause by the SSR. While Jack takes all the credit for saving the day, Daniel asks Peggy out for a drink. Angie (Lyndsy Fonseca) joins Peggy at their new home. Jarvis gives back Roger's blood to Peggy, who drops the vial down into the water.

 In his prison cell, Ivanchenko meets with Dr. Arnim Zola (Toby Jones).
