According to this new footage, the first portion of the game follows Johnny Cage who heads into a warzone via helicopter. We also get to see the team of fighters that are going in to fight on this first mission. A brief description of what is about to happen and why the events of the game are taking place helps gamers learn a bit more of what to expect. Unfortunately for the pilot, Scorpion decides to introduce himself in only a way that he can: with his harpoon!

It looks like the first bit of gameplay is a series of QuickTime events featuring Scorpion and Sub-Zero, which are actually pretty fun, but a little more than halfway through this video we get to see some arcade-style fighting that we were hoping for.

Fighting as Cage, players get to take on Scorpion in the first battle, which should definitely feel pretty nostalgic since they're both characters from the original title. Obviously, this updated version is much more brutal, with bone-breaking moves and bloody action. After defeating Scorpion, Cage has to fight Sub-Zero next.
