'Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows' #1: Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker Married With Mary Jane & Child!

After Andrew Garfield played him on the big screen, Peter Parker will become involved in the biggest Marvel Comics event ever. In a tie-in to the Secret Wars comic book event, from writer Dan Slott and artist Adam Kubert, Parker finds himself married to Mary Jane and with child in Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1. 

As we previously mentioned, Secret Wars features the Marvel superheroes from alternate realities coming together to meet in an epic standoff. The Marvel's superheroes and super-villains will be forced to defend themselves for the survival of their universe. There will be no Marvel Universe, no Ultimate Universe, or any other, just Battleworld.

According the release, the plot synopsis follows Peter, Mary Jane and their daughter. They may not have much, but as a tight family, they have each other. All of a sudden, a new foe has taken their city by storm. Heroes are falling by the dozens to this mysterious new adversary. Who is the super villain "Regent," who has claimed the lives of so many heroes? And just how far will Peter Parker go to protect the family?

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Slott reveals, "Spider-Man, when you get down to it, is a character about responsibility. And the second he's a father and a husband-he has a responsibility to share his powers with the world, but suddenly he has two people that are his whole world. That changes everything, the complete dynamic of what it means to have great power and great responsibility. You need to be there for your daughter, you need there for your wife-in a way that he hasn't had to be there for anyone else. And that drastically changes what it means to be Spider-Man."
