Fox's 'Empire' Finale Spoilers: Twitter Reacts To Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, Malik Yoba Shockers! [WATCH]

The highly anticipated first season finale of Empire made it ways on Fox. Twitter had lots to say about the shocking conclusion between Luscious Lyon (Terrence Howard), his loyal right-hand man, Vernon Turner (Malik Yoba), and his former love Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson).

As we previously mentioned, Luscious (Howard) is a hip hop mogul who's interested in taking his company public and passing the torch to one of his three kids. Cookie (Henson), the ex-matriarch of the wealthy family who has just been released from prison. The company is divided between the aspiring Jamal (Jussie Smollett), playboy rapper Hakeem (Bryshere Gray), and business savvy Andre (Trai Byers).

In the recap by TV Line, Vernon was murdered by Andre and his pregnant wife, Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday). Though Jamal has earned the company, Anika (Grace Gealey) has setup a hostile takeover against him. From beyond the grave, Vernon got his revenge for Bunkyie. Arrested for murder, Luscious was last seen in a prison cell, thinking his own wife and kids set him up.

In an interview with Chicago Tribune, Yoba reveals his character's death took him by surprise, ""I had no idea. I found out two days before the show got picked up for a second season. In some ways, I wasn't surprised because I didn't feel the character had developed. He's been on the fringes and hadn't really been integrated into stories. We didn't know anything about him. As an actor, I tried to make him as powerful and truthful as I could, whether it was with a look or quick word of monologue.""
