Jennifer Lawrence, star of The Hunger Games, reached new heights when she was cast as Mystique in X-Men: First Class, and it looks like she'll be stepping down from the infamous role after X-Men: Apocalypse. "J-Law" quickly dropped the news without an explanation after a red carpet interview for her movie Serena. Joining her on her way out will also be Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

When asked about the movie, Lawrence simply said, "It's my last one, yes."

You can watch the interview here.

What this means is that Mystique will probably be killed off at some point in the movie. You can speculate that it will either be at the hands of Apocalypse, the genocidal first mutant, or one of his horsemen. Hopefully, she'll get a special sendoff after being a huge part of the X-Men movie rebirth that started in 2011.

X-Men: Apocalypse isn't just the last stop for Lawrence, either. We found out Stewart and McKellen won't be making an appearence in the movie back in January. Both actors have been in every X-Men movie but First Class.

Stewart spoke about missing out on the next X-Men flick with Larry King.

"No, nor Sir Ian McKellen, either," Stewart told King. "I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters, so I don't think we'll be making an appearance."

If all of this wasn't enough bad news, then hopefully you'll be able to stomach some more. Joining Stewart, Lawrence and McKellen may also be Nicholas Hoult. Hoult joined the X-Men franchise in 2011 when he took on the role of Beast, and he said his return will depend on future scripts.

Is a Frasier comeback likely?

We'll have to wait for all this to play out until X-Men: Apocalypse makes it to the big screen in May 2016. Thankfully, we still have Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine. You don't really need anybody else other than him, anyway.
