'Independence Day 2' Plot Details, News: Sequel Synopsis Reveals Aliens, New Tech, & More!

With a release date set for just over a year from now, Independence Day 2 has a ton to get accomplished in very little time. This week, however, we found out the official plot synopsis of the sequel from Roland Emmerich, which confirms details of more aliens, more technology and much more action! Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, Jessie Usher, Joey King, Sela Ward, Brett Spiner, Vivica A. Fox, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Judd Hirsch star in this sequel. This star-studded project hopes to capitalize on the original's success, only 20 years later and without the main star. For now, we can only wait and see how it turns out!

According to ComicBook.com, this synopsis of the highly anticipated sequel originally popped up on Rotten Tomatoes, but nobody treated it like an official plot until this week when it showed up in a licensing expo magazine.
