We're all still reeling from the news that broke earlier this week, announcing that NBC has pulled the plug on Hannibal, which has officially been cancelled in the early stages of season three, but with each passing day we hear rumors of other platforms that can save season four. The series has always suffered from low ratings and viewership, so we understand why the network closed shop on the Lecter series, but we're not ready to accept the end of the entire show. Luckily for us, there are other avenues for new episodes and creator Bryan Fuller says popular streaming services Amazon and Netflix are both interested in giving Hannibal new life. It's a little complicated though, so don't get too excited just yet. Read more on this news below.

We'd all love to watch Hannibal on a streaming service, especially when it comes to brand new episodes, but will this really come to fruition? According to a new interview with Vulture, Fuller says the chances are evenly split between nothing happening and a fourth season coming to life.

"I know there have been discussions on a couple of fronts with Netflix and Amazon," Fuller explained, according to IGN. "But I believe our deal with Amazon precludes a Netflix component so I think Netflix, who has expressed interest and has expressed great enthusiasm for the show... I don't think contractually with our Amazon contract, they can pick up the show."

So yeah; it's pretty complicated. We all know that Fuller loves to tease his viewers, especially when it comes to Hannibal, so is this just more fun he's having at our expense? Later on in the interview, he clarified how difficult this process has been, despite the interest from both parties.

"All I know is that things are being discussed with venues to see how interested they actually are. I don't know to what extent," the executive producer said, according to UPROXX. "Without an NBC component, it's a little complicated. Even some of our international partners, because there's no NBC component, will pass on a fourth season."
