Love doesn't always last if you ask Michael Sam and his longtime fiancé Vito Cammisano. MStars News has learned that the NFL's first openly gay player called off his six-month engagement to Cammisano.
According to US Magazine, the couple broke up on Tuesday, June 30. Michael started dating Vito back in 2011 when they were both students at the University of Missouri. "They've been rocky for months," a source revealed.
It appears that Cammisano isn't ready to commit to Sam just yet. He still has happier times of the two posted on his Instagram account, though. But if you take a look at Michael Sam's account, it appears that he wiped the photos of his ex away.
MStars News previously reported that Michael and Vito got engaged during a trip to Europe back in January, which was also Sam's 25th birthday. Sam deleted the special photo of the two where their proposal took place. It was at the top of St. Peters Basilica in Vatican City.
Below is a photo of Vito's engagement ring.

During happier days, Sam also gave credit to his partner for helping him come out about his sexuality to his football teammates.
"Vito was really the person who showed me I had to do it," Sam previously said in an interview for OUT magazine after he won the Arthur Ashe Courage award at the ESPYS last year. "I wanted us to be comfortable."
MStars News wants to know, what do you think caused Sam to call off his engagement to Vito? Do you think the stress of Football got in the way? Sam just rejoined the Montreal Alouettes for camp in the midst of his personal issues.
