It's being reported that famed Hollywood producer Jerry Weintraub has died at the age of 77 from cardiac arrest. The producer, who many called a "super producer," was famous for working on films such as The Karate Kid, Ocean's Eleven, Diner, Behind the Candelabra, and many, many more. His death leaves many around the country saddened, especially his friends in showbiz, who recently responded via Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms.
Per a report from NBC News, Weintraub's agent confirmed his death at a Santa Barbara, California, hospital early Monday morning.
After word of Weintraub's death spread throughout the entertainment industry, actor George Clooney released a statement, writing, "In the coming days there will be tributes about our friend Jerry Weintraub. We'll laugh at his great stories, and applaud his accomplishments. And in the years to come the stories and accomplishments will get better with age, just as Jerry would have wanted it. But not today. Today our friend died."
Other Hollywood names came out in mourning on Twitter, thanking Weintraub for making their times working with him as wonderful as he did.
