The first season finale of Complications arrives on USA Network. From Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, in episode 10, what will John Ellison (Jason O'Mara), Gretchen Polk (Jessica Szohr), and Darius Bishop (Chris Chalk) discover they are in Critical Condition?
After a group of gang members get killed, John is still angry at his wife Samantha (Beth Riesgraf), over her previous affair. John has never stopped grieving over his daughter, but the two are struggling to get over this situation. After John walks out on Samantha, his father recommends never to put down the gun until its time to stop shooting.
While trying to keep Darius out of trouble, John makes a mess with things with Detective Holden. At the secret hospital, Gretchen wants to know from John what he told the detective. Holden is standing outside her door, putting a silencer together.
With Antwone in danger, John tells Samantha that he has to rescue the boy. Antoine struggles to stand and falls flat to the floor. While Gretchen tries to get something to move him, John makes a call to Darius. Though they're not friends, John is more concerned about saving Antwon from Holden.
Racing through the hallways, Gretchen rolls Antwon out from his bed but stops when she hears the elevator bell. Working as fast as she can to hide, Gretchen covers her face with a mask and leaves him. Pretending to be cleaning lady, Gretchen warns Holden that there are germs all over the place.
After almost having a near car crash, John makes a call to Gretchen, which arouses Holden's suspicions. Darius is waiting for John outside the hospital. While following Gretchen, Holden feels something is amiss when she finally ditches him.
The grandfather's home is suddenly surrounded by police. While the grandfather causes a distraction, he punches the main officer and gets in a brawl with him. While Samantha and her son make a run for it, Darius reveals to John that Holden is a corrupt cop.
John, Darius, and Gretchen are all working together to revive Antwon, who suddenly stops breathing. Holden shows up and shoots Darius down twice. While the officer hunts down Samantha and her son, a truck driver gives him false directions,covering for them.
While holding them hostage, Holden waves his gun around at the innocent boy. John reminds Holden that Antwon is just a child. John ducks and reaches for his medical bad, pulling the trigger to his gun first. Holden then falls to the floor dead.
Gretchen stops John from calling the police, reminds him of his family. John can save a lot of lives unless he makes the call to 911. With a gun pointed to his gun, John tells the truth to the rival gang and gets them to keep the peace.
Remembering his daughter, John drives home and tucks his son to sleep. At a campfire, John asks Samantha to help him cover up the crimes. He wants to keep the family together.
While John's grandfather is released from the prison and Darius is taken to the morgue, John admits the world goes on. John gets an phone call from a mysterious voice, who reminds him he destroyed his clinic.
John's life continues to get complicated.
