What's Anna Kendrick's Secret Motto For Life & What's It Like to Be 30?

Anna Kendrick recently sat down with Elle Magazine to be a part of their profiles for celebrity women who have hit the big 3-0. Kendrick was more than excited to talk about the transition. In fact, she was so excited about turning thirty that when she turned 29, she started to lie and say that she was already 30. The one thing that definitely stood out from Kendrick's expectations about the future was her new mantra, which goes something like, "Don't be pretentious, f---f---!" The other hope for the future is that she really wants to still be acting.  "I just hope that I'm still working and enjoying it. I guess that's what I hope I never lose sight of, that this is all supposed to be fun," she explained, according to Yahoo! News. "This is my dream. I never want to get to a place where I feel like I have to work just to keep with the Joneses or something. I hope I'm still enjoying it." With making films like Up in the Air, Pitch Perfect and Into the Woods, it seems as though Kendrick hasn't pigeonholed herself into a genre or certain type of role. Plus, she is doing all that she can to stay grounded and not let the fame go to her head.

Kendrick also talked to Elle about the anxiety and nervousness that comes from being in the spotlight all of the time and she recalled an incident from the Oscars. "I guess I always wanted to be doing this. I remember when I was getting ready to perform at the Oscars with Neil Patrick Harris, I ran into James Gordon from Into the Woods, and I told him how nervous I was and he said, 'You have to enjoy yourself because the 13-year-old you would punch yourself if you didn't.' I try to keep that in mind. I think that's really great advice for everybody. To enjoy yourself in the good moments, and to push yourself in the hard moments."

What a great piece of advice for anyone whether they have professional fears or personal ones for that matter. Kendrick was definitely a great pick for Elle's series! She puts an optimistic spin on approaching 30 and not having to deal with all of the struggles that take place your 20s. Uproxx even noted that some of her recent goals include, in addition to staying in some nights, "She also wants to learn to make her own pie crust, just like her grandma's recipe."

Kendrick is on the right track and we'd be wise to follow her example, whether we've hit 30 or not!
