Angie Stone & Daughter Diamond Attempt To Hash Out Their Issues with TD Jakes [Video]

After having a broken relationship for years, Angie Stone and her daughter, Diamond are trying to hash out their issues with mega pastor TD Jakes on his popular talk show, TD Jakes Show.

In the clip below, Stone and her daughter face off with the Bishop and even go back to that terrible day when the R&B singer was arrested for "knocking her daughter's teeth out." This is the first time both women have spoken out since their altercation.

While describing her daughter, Stone said: "My daughter and I are one in the same. However being a young mother caused me a lot of distance at times and somewhere along the line I think I missed somethings that I'm not sure because..first of all being the only child and the sole provider that takes care of my entire family I never really have time to stop and breathe."

"I feel like I'm just existing for my family. I feel like that goes so unappreciated. So my daughter and I have somewhat of a distance because I feel like when I was 22 years old and gave birth to my daughter I just didn't give birth to my daughter, I had to grow up along the way by myself with no siblings to help me with parents that only made it to the ninth grade I feel like if I had known better, I could've done better," the actress admitted. As her daughter Diamond, 31, watched backstage.

Angie called her daughter precious and reflected on how she reminded her of her grandmother.

Angie claims that she always had a great relationship with her own parents and believed that her relationship her daughter would be the same.

Stone revealed that she "walked away from her toddler to pursue her career to pay her bills, and to pay her mother's bills and put her [Diamond] through school." Stone claimed that she made a lot of sacrifices, but her daughter disagreed.

When Diamond finally joined her mom on stage it wasn't a pleasant chat.

"We have a very confusing relationship because she cannot accept anything that is unfavorable. It's hard to speak to a person or convey how you feel to a person who is used to having their way," Diamond told Bishop TD Jakes.

Diamond claimed that she was hurt and angered inside because her mom "doesn't behave like a mother should."

"Most children gravitate to their parent for love and affection and support, I don't get that from her," the 31-year-old explained.

The reunion didn't go without waterworks. Stone teared up while talking to her daughter.

TD Jakes set both of the women straight by telling them both, "if you don't figure her out, you will never figure you out."

"What hurts the most is, when a child slanders you and curses you. It's hard to know how to embrace that kind of hate," the singer said.
