The Daily Show with Trevor Noah premieres this coming Sept. 28. And while the South African comedian assured his remaining correspondents that nothing will change since Jon Stewart took his leave, there are a few minor alterations occurring. Comedy Central has just announced that the famed "fake" news program will add three new players to "The Best F#@king News Team Ever" – comedians Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng and Roy Wood, Jr.
Vulture.com is reporting on the trio of comedians entering the Comedy Central program, noting that no one from the previous version of The Daily Show is leaving. Which is great because surely Comedy Central knows that if any of the cast were to leave because of the change-up there may be hell to pay.
Just a thought.
Okay, so just who are these new faces? Well, Chieng is a Malasian-born comedian who lives in Australia. He reportedly attended law school before finding a great deal of success in stand-up. He was the Best Newcomer in the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and has opened for both Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle.
Desi Lydic is no stranger to the United States comedy scene, having been a part of anything from MTV's Awkward to FX's near-ending series The League. And yes, even Matt Damon's why-did-I-do-this project We Bought a Zoo.
Vulture notes that she was even interviewed by Fox & Friends.

And finally, you might have seen Roy Wood, Jr., if not on the stage, on the TBS series Sullivan & Son, which starred comedian Steve Byrne. Wood played one of Byrne's longtime friends alongside fellow comedian (and friend IRL!) Owen Benjamin.
So, any thoughts on the new Daily Show names?
