It has been reported that Tyrod Taylor decided to start his career with the Buffalo Bills with a diamond-studded mouthpiece. ESPN and TMZ are reporting two completely different sides of this story. TMZ says Taylor ordered it but ESPN says Taylor and his family were "offended" by such allegations.

Supposedly, Tyrod Taylor decided to add some oomph to one of his accessories he plans on wearing on the field: his mouthpiece. TMZ said that Tyrod Taylor would be wearing a diamond-studded mouthpiece.

TMZ claimed that the former Virginia Tech star, who spent his first four seasons in the NFL in Baltimore holding the clipboard for Joe Flacco, allegedly contacting dentist Dr. Michael Wright to work on the mouthpiece.  Wright supposedly told TMZ that Taylor's mouthpiece "will be blinged out with diamonds." The diamonds are apparently to be coated with a protective layer in order to protect the new quarterback's mouth. The mouthpiece is also to be equipped with a magnetic strip so that it can hang onto Taylor's helmet.

However, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak, this entire report is false. Taylor's agent, Adisa Bakari, told ESPN on Monday that the report by TMZ was "a complete fabrication." In fact, it has been reported that Taylor never even spoke to Wright about a diamond-studded mouthpiece at all.

Bakari also stated that Taylor and his family were "offended" by the report of Taylor considering wearing a diamond-studded mouthpiece.

In light of this, it appears Tyrod Taylor will not be wearing a blinged out mouth guard to his first career start after all. It seems that it's just not his style, unlike Floyd Mayweather, who reportedly spent $25,000 for a custom mouth guard.

At least Taylor won't have to be worried about losing any diamonds from his mouthpiece or getting his mouthpiece stuck to another player's helmet due to the "magnetic strip."

In any event, congrats to Taylor on scoring his first career start and good luck to the QB against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Sept. 13.
