Despite some drama involving Real Madrid transfer and trade rumors, it looks like David De Gea has accepted his fate as the Manchester United goalkeeper this week, signing a four-year contract with the option to add another year. After this news broke, rumors started spreading suggesting the 24-year-old could start in United's important Premier League 2015 season game against Liverpool this weekend. "I am delighted to be starting this new chapter in my United career," De Gea told his team's official website. "I have always enjoyed playing with these great players in front of our fantastic fans. Manchester United is a special club and Old Trafford is an ideal place for me to continue to develop my career. I'm looking forward to putting a difficult summer behind me and concentrating on working hard to improve and help my teammates to be successful."
Considering the back-and-forth between United and Madrid, many believed the goalkeeper and his manager were not happy with each other throughout the summer. With that deal crumbling recently, it looks like, considering they're pretty much stuck with each other, they've made amends.
According to The Daily Mail, Louis Van Gaal told ManUTV that he is "delighted" that "one of the best goalkeepers in the world of football" has remained with the team and signed on for years to come.
