How I Met Your Mother and Gone Girl talented jack of all tradesman Neil Patrick Harris debuts in his new hit variety show, Best Time Ever, on NBC this month. The show airs every week, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. According to the new host, we can expect plenty of laughs, special celebrity guests and lots of sharable moments that cater to the YouTube generation.

People says that the actor guarantees "a ton of random segments of weirdness and fun...an A-list celebrity guest announcer every week and they're there to throw to commercials." He also mentions how he's surprised that nothing like this has been done in the United States yet. He believes that in a day and age of being "plugged in," that the show, taking place in "bite-size segments," will be very "gif-friendly and YouTube clip friendly," Fox News reports. It seems as if Harris may be on to something here, where watching his TV show will be broken apart into various segments so that it feels similar to perusing the Internet, like many younger demographics do, as opposed to being able to sit down and invest in an hour-long, plot-driven show.

Apparently the show will be a "live, fast-paced, high-spirited hour of games, extravagant prizes, hidden cameras, celebrity pranks, music and comedy with Harris as emcee and chief mischiefmaker proves that adults don't have to leave all the good times behind after childhood," Parade says. He describes his childhood to Parade and chuckles at how "Mark Twain" it all sounds. The magazine continues to praise him for his wide range of talents. "He's starred on two additional TV series, Stark Raving Mad and How I Met Your Mother. He's guest-acted on scores of TV shows and appeared in more than 30 movies, most recently Gone Girl. He has shown his astonishing range with performances on Broadway in Cabaret, Assassins and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He has also carved out a career as a popular events host, captaining the Oscar, Emmy and Tony award shows." People even notes that he is an experienced magician (much like his How I Met Your Mother character Barney Stinson) and "says he has a trick up his sleeve to get him out of any sticky situation." He even told People, "I'll pull a dove out of my pants." Harris hopes that Best Time Ever will nod to the old musical hour of the '60s and '70s, but be more of a "sugar-hyper offspring of those shows," Entertainment Weekly reports. Giving Harris this opportunity is clearly a no-brainer.
