Back in 2011, the Milwaukee Bucks had the opportunity to select Klay Thompson in the NBA Draft. Instead, they went with Jimmer Fredette and later traded him to the Sacramento Kings. Ultimately that led the Golden State Warriors to pick Thompson with the number 11 pick that year.  Klay Thompson is ever so grateful that the Bucks didn't draft him.

According to CBS Sports, the Warriors' shooting guard recently spoke with reporters, during an appearance at a school in Oakland, and revealed that he gives plenty thanks for the Bucks passing on him.

To reiterate and clarify exactly what happened back in 2011, during NBA draft night, a three-team deal worthy of a shell game is what got the Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson.

As reported by NBC Sports, the Sacramento Kings, the Charlotte Bobcats (now the Hornets) and the Milwaukee Bucks made a three-team deal, which lead to Jimmer Fredette, who was the 10th pick in the draft, to be picked by the Bucks. The Bucks then traded the BYU star (Fredette) to the Kings. The Bucks also sent out John Salmons and eventually got Tobias Harris, Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston and Beno Udrih out of the whole trade. This also allowed Thompson to be the 11th pick, and thus become a Warrior.

As per Bleacher Report, when the Warriors picked Thompson, they traded away shooting guard, Monta Ellis, to the Bucks, which ended up allowing the Splash Brothers to unite. Four years later, the Warriors became NBA champions.

Seems like everything happens for a reason; Thompson is in a city where it never snows, it is closer to his father (who is based in Los Angeles) and he's on a team who just won a championship, and is looking to win more.

Now, Bucks' fans may be a little angry and distressed over the major loss of talent they just discovered, but they can't stay mad at him for too long (not that it really matters anyway...).
