WWE 'NXT Takeover: Respect' Preview: Spoilers, Rumors, Predictions for Each Match

WWE's developmental brand NXT will present the NXT Takeover: Respect live special tonight on the WWE Network from the campus of Full Sail University, and the main event is a 30-Minute Iron Woman Match that pits Bayley against Sasha Banks for the NXT Women's Championship. We've got a full preview for you with spoilers, rumors, and predictions for each match, so let's get to it.

Remember, these are just our opinions and best guesses for what will happen tonight. We will, however, use news reports and other sources as necessary.

Tyler Breeze vs. Apollo Crews

Tyler Breeze seems to have gotten caught in this weird spot on the card. He had challenged for the NXT Championship a couple of times but came up short. Now, Prince Pretty is in the upper part of the card, but he's not doing anything particularly meaningful other than putting over other talent.

He came up short against veteran Japanese superstar Jushin "Thunder" Liger at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn in late August, and now he's up against a rising star in the artist formerly known as Uhaa Nation. It likely would have made more sense for Breeze to beat Liger, gloat about his victory, and then lose to Crews here. But instead, it looks like he's set up to take another loss. Unless, of course, this is going to be a lengthy program, in which case Breeze should get a dirty win here.

Winner: Apollo Crews

Asuka vs. Dana Brooke

There's no way NXT brings in the Japanese female sensation only to have her lose her first match to a woman who still needs time to hone her skills in the ring. It's always possible that Emma interferes and costs her the match to lengthen the feud, but we doubt it.

Winner: Asuka

Finn Balor and Samoa Joe vs. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder

This is one of two semifinals in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, and the main story here is actually the tease of a feud between Balor and Joe for the NXT Championship. The two have had a simmering tension for weeks now, and it's likely to boil over tonight in some capacity.

It would take too much of the spotlight away from the spirit of the tournament to have the split happen in the finals, so we think it happens here. It's unclear which man would turn on the other, but the rift is likely to widen when a miscue causes them to lose the match (expect Joe to eat the pin rather than the champion).

Winners: Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan vs. Baron Corbin and Rhyno

The beauty of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is the way NXT balanced singles storylines with true tag teams. Here, we have that in play, as we have two singles competitors placed together (Corbin and Rhyno) up against a true blue tag team in Gable and Jordan. Given the nature of the tournament, a real tag team should win it all, so we might as well have two true teams face off in the finals.

Winners: Chad Gable and Jason Jordan

That makes our finals matchup...

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan vs. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder

Either of these teams have the potential to be atop the tag team division in NXT relatively soon, but I for one think Gable and Jordan have a higher ceiling and a quicker route to the top. Gable was in the Olympics after all! Expect those two men to receive the trophy from the Rhodes Brothers tonight.

Winners: Chad Gable and Jason Jordan

Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks for the NXT Women's Championship in a 30-Minute Iron Woman Match

I don't have much to say about this for two reasons. Firstly, the ending is written in stone. The Boss is on the main roster now, while Bayley just won the belt after a long trip to the top. So the Hugster isn't losing a rematch this quickly. Second, I just want to sit back and enjoy this. I want to bask in the fact that two females are headlining.

My only request here is that this isn't a 0-0 tie. I want Sasha to be up 3-0 and Bayley to rally for a victory.

Who am I kidding? No matter what happens, I'll be happy.

Winner: Bayley
