After only a few days, Liverpool FC has found a replacement for sacked manager Brendan Rodgers in former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp. This news confirms a number of rumors surrounding the manager's move to the Barclays Premier League, having been at the top of the speculated list of managers that would be called in to take over for Rodgers. Fenway Sports Group, the owners of the team, have tried to coerce Klopp into a coaching deal two times before this, but it looks like the Bundesliga champion has finally decided to come over to the Premier League (via BBC).
Carlo Ancelotti and Frank de Boer were two other managers linked to the open position once Rodgers was officially sacked, but we now know that Klopp has won out.
"We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Brendan Rodgers for the significant contribution he has made to the club and express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment," a statement from FSG read. "All of us have experienced some wonderful moments with Brendan as manager and we are confident he will enjoy a long career in the game."
