Fans may have been patiently anticipating Teresa Giudice's triumphant return to the small screen on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but while the series has been off the air for almost a year, have the fans gotten tired of waiting, and have they lost interest in the reality star? Well it might seem that way, as it is being reported that the new three-part special, The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In, didn't fare so well in the ratings. It is even being speculated that now that her first appearance back on the network didn't bring in the audience that Bravo was looking to attract that her season 7 contract could be in jeopardy.
According to the Radar Online, 1.231 million viewers tuned in for the premiere episode to watch how the Giudice family has been coping while their mother and wife is away in prison.
The site is also reporting that the number of viewers for the episode was allegedly lower than every single episode of the previous sixth season of the Bravo hit, RHONJ. Fans of the show watched on last year as Giudice battled with the courts as she dealt with the possibility of facing time in prison.
We previously reported that Teresa would be bringing in a huge payday for being part of the new season of Real Housewives of New Jersey, however, with the new ratings reveal it is being speculated by Radar that her future as a reality star might be in jeopardy, as the star has yet to sign on the dotted lines.

However, their might have been a logical explanation for the ratings slump, as according to Wetpaint, the special was going up against a highly anticipated episode of KUWTK, which saw Kourtney Kardashian calling off her relationship with Scott Disick. As these two shows have a similar fan base, the ratings could have been split between the two, as 1.702 million viewers tuned into the E! show.
As the four-part Kardashian special came to an end last week, we will have to see if RHONJ:Teresa Checks In can pick up in the ratings department.
