Dancing With The Stars' couple, Noah Galloway and Jamie Boyd, have decided to call off their engagement and are choosing to remain friends. Galloway, a former contestant of the hit show revealed that news via Instagram on Monday.

"After long and careful consideration we've decided to end our engagement," Galloway, an Iraq War veteran stated. "We love each other deeply and we're confident we will remain friends. While we wanted to share this you, we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

Earlier this year, Galloway, a double-amputee, got down on one knee and asked Boyd to marry him. Boyd is also in the military and is an Army reserve specialist. According to Fox News, Galloway lost two of his limbs back in 2005 in the middle of a bomb explosion in Iraq. He won third place on the dance competition show. Galloway has been married two times before and has three children from those relationships. During happier times, Galloway revealed that he and Boyd were planning a fall wedding for 2016. "We've both had so much going on we haven't been able to plan for this fall," the former contestant said. "But we're shooting for next fall on a farm." Galloway also believed that he was going to marry Boyd when he first met her. He said, "The day I met her, I knew that this was going to be somebody I was going to ask to marry me." The Iraq War veteran added, "She's really made me a better person because of who she is and what she stands for." After Galloway announced their split, Boyd uploaded a photo of the two of them posing at a red carpet event when they were still together as a couple and released her own statement that read: "We can't thank you enough for all your unwavering love and support. It has meant, and means, so much to us so we wanted to share this with you firsthand," she continued, "This is a very difficult time and we appreciate y'all for respecting our privacy as we go through this."
