Travis Barker relived some of the worst times in his life during an exclusive interview on The Real Wednesday. During his chat with the ladies of the show, the Blink 182 drummer claimed that his children helped him overcome a lot of his demons following the death of his friend, DJ AM, and the deadly plane crash Barker was involved in back in 2008 that claimed the lives of four people, including two of his best friends.
During his interview, Barker said that his two kids, Landon Asher Barker, Alabama Luella Barker helped him out a lot with his recovery. Barker said that his kids helped play a role in helping him move on with life. "They were a huge part in my recovery. Any demons I was battling you have to overcome them." The 39-year-old shares the 12-year-old, and the 9-year-old with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler.

MStars News previously reported that Barker recalled the day he was involved in a deadly plane crash. Barker said that he suffered burns all over his body, and survived the crash along with DJ AM, whose real was Adam Michael Goldstein. AM would die just one year after the crash from an accidental drug overdose.
Barker said that because of AM he remained sober from drugs. "You know the crazy thing is, one of the last things he said to me was ... It was after a show," Barker said of AM. "We had just played Coachella, we were playing our residency in Vegas, and, you know, this guy had 12 years sober under his belt. He's one of the reasons I got sober."
Barker added, "He was just one of those people that were in your life that just made you want to be a better person." He continued, "Anytime he was negative I didn't really think much because I just knew how strong he was and I knew he had 12 years under his belt."
Barker claimed he didn't realize that AM would die soon after from using drugs. He said that AM hinted that he wanted to use them again."One of the last things he said to me was you know, 'I feel like doing a bunch of drugs and saying f*ck it."
Wow, how said. But thank goodness Barker has continued to go on the right path, and remain clean and sober despite all of the scars and memories he has of that fatal crash.
