Yeezy 350 Designer Kanye West Wins Annual Footwear Awards' Shoe of the Year!

The 29th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards may never be the same after fashion designer and musician Kanye West held its audience captivde with a 18-minute speech last night. West was presented the "Shoe of the Year" award for his Adidas Yeezy 350 brand, presented by Adidas execs Arthur Hoeld, John Wexler, Rachel Muscat and Michael Atmore.

Page Six reported the rapper said, "It's cool to be up here with the three people I screamed at the most in the past year." True to Kanye's fashion sense, the rapper donned a t-shirt and jeans and made a point to include wife, Kim Kardashian in his speech by saying, "I know what you're thinking? Where's my suit jacket?' But if my wife's not here, no suit jacket," adding, "I have no plans for what I'm going to say, so this could land completely wrong, but it doesn't really [bleeping] matter, does it? If you don't like 10-minute profanity-riddled speeches that end with a presidential bid, you can go to the bathroom."

According to Complex, some of the "shoe oscar" recipients include Alexa Chung for the" Style Influencer of the Year," "Designer of the Year" went to Egardo Osorio of Aquazzura, Under Amour's Kevin Plank got "Brand of the Year," "Company of the Year" was accepted by Paulette Alvitti on behalf of Foot Locker, Christian Louboutin received the "Marketer of the Year" and the "Manolo Blahnik Lifetime Achievement Award" was given to Robert Greenberg.

Big names in the world of sports and entertainment were present for the "Only One" lyricists speech including singer Fergie, Uri Minkoff, boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, designer Phillip Lim and retired NFL champ, Deion Sanders.

Since Kim is expecting their baby boy any day now, she showed her support by via Instagram and wrote, "So well deserved! Congrats babe on winning Shoe of the Year Award. I see how hard you work & how meaningful this is!"

Perhaps next year, the panel of organizers should allot more time to the program, if West is in the building!
