Mariah Carey Diamond Ring Sparks Billionaire James Packer Engagement Rumors

Is Mariah Carey engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer? It doesn't take much to start an online firestorm of rumors about celebrities these days, as proven by recent engagement rumors around Carey and Packer. Speculation about an engagement has been fierce that she may have received a Christmas proposal after she was spotted wearing a sparkling ring on her left finger. Carey and Packer made their way through Packer's Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex in Melbourne on Wednesday. Photographers spotted what appeared to be an engagement ring on Carey's finger.

The couple, who went public with their relationship six months ago, flew into Tullamarine Airport in Packer's private jet before heading to his Crown Hotel.

Rumors are that she may have received a Christmas proposal from her 48-year-old billionaire beau when the couple spent the Christmas holidays together in Aspen, Colorado.

Carey certainly made an entrance, wearing a plunging black gown as crowds of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the famous singer. Onlookers couldn't help but notice a sparkling ring on the 45-year-old singer's left hand. Carey's sparkler could be her favorite butterfly ring instead of an engagement ring. It was difficult to tell in the photos taken at the Crown casino.  One of Carey's fan pages claimed it was just Carey's favorite butterfly ring, tweeting, "Dear Aussie Media, Mariah's been wearing this ring for over a decade. Carey appears to be quite taken with Packer, posting a lovely photo on Instagram after they reunited in New York two weeks ago.
