The world is already aware of what could happen in Captain America: Civil War, where Steve Rogers and Tony Stark end up being on either side of a battle between Marvel superheroes. This means there will be major changes in the characters, as confirmed by Chris Evans.
The actor/director spoke to Cineplex about Civil War and explained how Captain America and Iron Man will be very different in the new Marvel flick.
"We're going to have a nice evolution where you have a guy like Cap, who grew up with structure - he was a soldier and he liked hierarchy, he liked the chain of command. Now, all of a sudden, you have a guy who used to love the system not so sure about trusting it. And a guy like Tony Stark, who used to buck the system and dance to the beat of his own drum all of a sudden thinking, maybe we need some order," he said.
But what could possibly cause Captain America to start questioning the authorities? The Civil War trailer seems to suggest that Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, may have a lot to do with it.
In the trailer, Sebastian Stan's character is being chased by Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Steve appears to be helping him.
Is it possible that their friendship is one of the main factors why Captain America refuses to abide by the Sokovia Accords? At one point in the trailer, Steve admits to Tony that he wouldn't be helping Bucky unless he had any other choice, because "he's my friend." In response, a hurt Tony says "So was I."
Captain America: Civil War also stars Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. Tom Holland will debut as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The film is scheduled for release on May 6.
