Microsoft launched the Xbox One back in 2013, but also announced a slew of projects that were even more exciting than a new gaming console. One of which was a new television series airing on Showtime based on the popular video game franchise Halo, which would involve legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg! Since this announcement, we've seen Halo: Nightfall and Forward Unto Dawn, which had fans of the series figuring the Spielberg project was never going to happen. Director Neil Blomkamp is best known for his films District 9 and Elysium, but a few years back he made a number of short films based on the popular XBox video game Halo. Fans may also remember that the director was set to make a full-length movie based on the video game, but eventually backed out.
