Tom Holland Cast as Spider-Man

After months and months of speculation, casting rumors and leaked short lists, we can now confirm the new actor and director of the upcoming Spider-Man solo movie for Marvel and Sony. According to the comic book film studio, Tom Holland has officially been cast as the new Peter Parker with director Jon Watts hired to helm the 2017 MCU standalone film. We recently reported on an actor short list that Marvel has compiled for casting the role of Spider-Man, a.k.a. Peter Parker in the upcoming Cinematic Universe movies including a standalone film, Captain America: Civil War and other Avengers projects.
