Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran landed an amazing gig when he was asked to write a new song for the soundtrack of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, especially since he is an admitted fan of the films and books. Sheeran wrote "I See Fire" for the epic tale, now in theaters, but he recently revealed that he almost blew the chance to work on the film. One of the biggest YouTube hits of all time has to be Leonard Nimoy's song from the 1960's that was inspired by the J.R.R. Tolkien book, The Hobbit.
