After almost 30 years of being devoted to the Church of Scientology, actor Tom Cruise is leaving his religion behind to become a more loving and present parent to daughter Suri Cruise, 9. Suri spends most of her time with mother Katie Holmes, who is divorced from Cruise. Reportedly, Cruise video chats and talks to Suri on the phone but "it's just not the same." Cruise realized that he was missing out on too many of Suri's milestones and decided that in order to be the dedicated parent he wanted to be, he would have to leave behind a religion that he has advocated for such I long time, even becoming a "poster boy" of sorts to the church itself. Not only was this the first time that Cruise, the face of Scientology came to an event after the documentary revealed a ton of information about the popular religion, but Cruise was reportedly the big hit of the convention!
