After last year's critically acclaimed hit HBO crime drama series True Detective came to a conclusion, we learned that creator Nic Pizzolatto would start anew with season two. Just a little past halfway through 2015, we got our first taste of the new direction, storyline and characters thanks to the premiere episode, entitled "The Western Book of the Dead," directed by Justin Lin. Besides plenty of casting rumors and then confirmations last year, news about HBO's True Detective season two has been kind of slow recently. Luckily for us, one of the stars of the upcoming 2015 episodes, Vince Vaughn revealed some plot details in a new interview with Playboy Magazine. After months of speculation around the casting of True Detective's season 2 leading characters and rumors surrounding a number of actors, Taylor Kitsch this week confirmed that he would round out the main 3 male leads of the HBO show. It looks like Rachel McAdams is still in the running for True Detective's leading female role in the upcoming season 2 episodes. Season 2 of HBO's crime drama True Detective officially confirmed two huge casting updates this week when Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn were announced as the 2015 episodes' new protagonist and antagonist respectfully.
