There were rumors going around that TNA was ready to sign WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler to a big-time contract. Many thought that the underutilized former World Champion would be able to flourish in TNA's main event scene and have dream matches with the likes of a Kurt Angle. It seems like those rumors are now competing with a new rumor stating that Ziggler has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. If this is really the case then Ziggler might have found himself in a deal with WWE that may guarantee a bigger push. Read More »
Daniel Bryan's rise to fame in the WWE was a special sight to see. The man who started his career by wrestling in front of gymnasiums of 12 people eventually rose to fame as one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time through his infectious Yes Movement. His legitimacy as one of the best we have ever seen was solidified at Wrestlemania 30 when he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Randy Orton and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista. Sadly Bryan's career has been derailed by injuries and it looks like this very special champion of the people may be forced to retire. Last Thursday the man who is best known as the American Dream Dusty Rhodes passed away. The Dream was 69-years-old and his passing rocked the wrestling world. Nobody saw it coming. This week TMZ Sports obtained the 911 call made by Rhodes' wife after Rhodes collapsed at his Florida home. The operator who took the call seemed as if Rhodes' wife inconvenienced him. Read More »
On Thursday, tragedy struck in the wrestling world once again when the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes, died at the age of 69. Other than his own family, the person who may have been broken up about it the most is Ric Flair. Both men's careers have intertwined for generations and their rivalries are probably the best the business has ever seen. The WWE Hall of Fame becomes more and more prestigious every year. It has transformed into its own event outside of Wrestlemania and has come a long way since 1993. The Hall of Fame may just be getting a bit spiffier now as NBA City at Universal in Orlando's city walk might be replaced by it. Another option for the WWE is the Cheesecake Factory in the area and a Universal movie set themed restaurant. Read More »
Before Sami Zayn became the WWe star he is today, he donned a mask on the independents and called himself El Generico. El Generico won him the adulation of fans on the indies, but it wasn't until he became a member of NXT did the Zayn brand take off in a big way. His match with John Cena was one of the biggest debuts in years, but sadly a shoulder injury curtailed his rise to WWE stardom for now. It sucks that Zayn isn't on television right now, but we do have a timetable on his return and he won't be out as long as we imagined. According to Wrestling Inc. Not everyone thought Flyod Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao was a complete narcoleptic bout that did more to promote UFC than it did boxing. One of the guys proud of Mayweather is former WWE Champion and next-in-line to Vince McMahon's throne, Triple H. This naturally pissed a few people off and the one person in particular who got really offended by the support was ESPN personality and wrestling fan Michelle Beadle. Sheamus may have had one of the quickest rises to the top in WWE history. In June 2009 he debuted for the ECW brand and in a few short months he defeated John Cena fairly for the WWE Championship in a Tables match at the aptly named TLC Pay-Per-View. The next night on Raw he was dubbed the breakout Superstar of the year. After being played on the big screen by former wrestler Dave Bautista, the Drax the Destroyer is getting his own solo title. Former WWE superstar, CM Punk, joins Marvel Comics in writing the new ongoing series starring Guardian of the Galaxy star in "Drax" #1, scheduled for Fall 2015. Read More »
TNA Wrestling has been in a state of flux as of late just when things were on the up-and-up after signing with a channel that allowed them worldwide exposure. Problems with payment lead to several wrestlers voicing their gripe about not getting paychecks. One such talent who has been really fed up over not receiving his money was TNA's top announcer Taz and this week he left the company.
