Torrent sites are very popular because it's where most share and find important files, not to mention download their favorite movies and TV series. However, due to copyright infringement giant Torrent sites like KickAss Torrent and The Pirate Bay were tried to be shut down. However, it's a different case for ExtraTorrent who decided to go offline on its own.
ExtraTorrent decided to shut down for good. On its website, dated May 27, 2017, ET announced its goodbye.
"ExtraTorrent has shut down permanently," the statement reads. "ExtraTorrent with all mirrors goes offline. We permanently erase all data. Stay away from fake ExtraTorrent websites and clones." The team never forget to thanks its supporters and the Torrent community.
It's not the end of the world yet, we know that it's difficult to live without ExtraTorrent. So here are five Torrent alternative sites for you from Feed Reader.
The Pirate Bay - TPB is the most resilient torrent site. A number of copyright activist from multiple countries targeted the site. Several ISP already blocked it. However, just days after its IP address is blocked, The Pirate Bay resurrected with a different IP address.
TorrentDownloads - This torrent site has been around for a long time already. A number of countries have already asked their ISPs to block this site but it is still accessible in most countries.
RARBG - This site has been around in 2008 and was started in Bulgaria. It has already gained a number of users and is one of the most visited torrent website today.
YTS. AG - This has an Alexa rank of 335, suggesting that it is another popular Torrent site to visit. Although its name is close to YTS or YIFY group, it has no affiliation to the latter.
1337X - The site had security concerns before, but it was already resolved. This torrent site is now doing great. It already left all its negative issues behind.
