Justin Bieber has finally announced the name of his fifth Music Mondays single. "Bad Day" is the title of the follow up to "Recovery," due out this Sunday at midnight.
After a joking push from his manager Scooter Braun on Instagram, who actually beat Bieber to the single title and artwork announcement, the Biebz posted the cover and a short explanation on his own Instagram.
"This #MusicMondays from the heart #pushit #badday," he wrote alongside the cover.
This is the first artwork to somewhat deviate form the pattern set by "Heartbreaker" on Oct. 7. Though "Bad Day" does feature a white background and plain gray sans-serif font, a gray cloud is the focus of the cover with purple rain falling from its center.
Though the color scheme remains the same, there is a bit of deviation, adding a new visual element.
Bieber's added tag to "push it" may come in the wake of the less-than-expected sales for "Recovery." That single is the first of the four Music Mondays releases to not reach No. 1 on the iTunes singles chart, leading to no Film Fridays clip from Believe 3D this week.
Despite that, Bieber is not having a bad run for his Music Mondays project. His singles "Heartbreaker," "All That Matters," "Hold Tight" and "Recovery" help to make up some of his strongest material to date. Blending together stripped down R&B beats with personal, open lyrics, the new tracks are helping to push Bieber into adult pop stardom.
