Both Colombia and the Ivory Coast face injuries and recovering stars on their respective rosters, but today's match is too important to make excuses for not showing up to win. Each team desperately needs goals, but with star players sitting out or coming in later in the games, can either side pull off a victory today?

When the Ivory Coast faced off against Japan in the earlier Group C match, star goal scorer Didier Drogba came in late as a sub. This sparked some excitement from the crowd and the players, but was it too late?

Coach Sabri Lamouchi explained why Drogba was on the bench at the start of the match.

"People love Didier Drogba and I know there are a lot of lovers of Drogba's style. But you have to understand the last time he played 90 minutes was a few months ago in Turkey. He's just recovered from injury," he reasoned. "He made a lot of sacrifices to be here at the World Cup."

Meanwhile, Colombia's star, Calros Bacca, is out of the World Cup altogether.

"Following the tests done by Colombia's medical team, led by Doctor Carlos Ulloa, it has been determined that player Carlos Bacca has suffered a first degree muscle strain and will require a period of treatment from seven to 10 days," a statement from the organization read.

It looks like both teams will struggle for the rest of the tournament, but will we learn today if they proceed to the next round or not.
