In order for Greece to advance to the last 16 teams of the 2014 World Cup, Japan must lose to Colombia. This puts the Ivory Coast at a slight advantage, though the team still needs a win to advance. Meanwhile, a win for Japan means that the Blue Samurais move on to the next round. There is a lot at stake in the final leg of this round for Group C, so expect a lot from today's games.
"We need to keep playing well and win our next game," Japan's manager, Alberto Zaccheroni, said after tying with Greece.
Keisuke Honda, the team's striker added: "Even though Colombia have already qualified, for us the game will be like a final and we'll be playing for our lives."
Japan definitely needs all of the focus and luck it can get going into this exciting match, but Colombia feels the same way - which can be very dangerous.
"We still have to face Japan, who are a team who are going to grow in their game and are capable of fighting for qualification. We will see how we deal with it as we move on," coach Jose Pekerman said.
Today's games will determine so much for these teams.
