Even though Girls actress Zosia Mamet does not know Taylor Swift personally, she revealed that she is honored that the singer identifies with her character Shoshanna. The 26-year-old actress responded to Taylor Swift's remark about being similar to her character during an interview with Huffington Post Live.
"I'm honored! That's great," Zosia told Huffington Post Live's Ricky Camilleri on Monday. "Shoshanna would be over the moon. Oh, she would be thrilled."
Taylor told Rolling Stone that she would definitely be Shoshanna, when talking about the show, which she describes as her Sex and the City.
"I could label all my girlfriends as Shoshannas, Jessas, Marnies or Hannahs," Taylor told the publication in their September issue. "I've thought about this a lot ... I'm Shoshanna."
The "22" singer further explained her answer saying, "Shoshanna gets excited about things, she's really girly. And when she was in a relationship that was very comfortable, she made the decision to get out and go experience new things on her own. And now she's becoming more sure of herself and taking life head-on, in a way that I can relate to. Even though I've never accidentally smoked crack at a warehouse party and run pants-less through Brooklyn."
Although Zosia isn't very familiar with Taylor's work, she admitted that Shoshanna would definitely like her.
"I am not a huge follower of what's super up to date with the celebs these days, so I can't say I know a whole lot about her public persona," Zosia said on Huffington Post Live. "I only know [of] her seemingly being a really savvy, classy career lady."
Taylor is however friends with Girls' creator, Lena Dunham. The two became friends after following her on Twitter. The singer-songwriter revealed to Rolling Stone that the actress sent her a direct message, which she still has saved.
"I am so excited about the prospect of being friends with you that I added the adjective best in front of it. The idea that you like my show is so thrilling, and I can't wait to lavish you with praise in person," the quote read.
