Great minds think alike. Both Katie Couric and Rob Lowe's children are heading off to college at Stanford University, and their proud parents couldn't wait to share their move in adventures on social media.

Katie and Rob both dropped off their eldest child at Stanford, in Northern California on Tuesday, and they managed to stop and enjoy the moment with a couple of pictures.

It's been a wild summer for Katie, marrying John Molner on June 21 in New York, and now sending her oldest daughter off to college. The television host spent the day on Tuesday moving her 18-year-old daughter Carrie into her dorms. "Move in day @Stanford! #goodluckclassof18!" Katie tweeted.

Carrie was wearing her welcome id in the picture as she posed with her proud mom in front of a building on Stanford's campus.

Rob's son, John Owen Lowe will also be attending Stanford University this year and he had to share his move in experience with his fans and friends. The Parks and Recreation actor took to Instagram to celebrate his oldest child's big day.

"This dorm was empty this morning. A mom's love and talent and a few hours later: a new home," the actor wrote with a picture of his son and wife Sheryl Berkoff in John's new dorm room. The dorm is now covered in posters and pictures with Stanford pillows and blankets adorning his bed.

The 50-year-old actor also posted a photo to his Twitter account making fun of and at the same time honoring the school's funny mascot. "One of the best, (and most disturbing) mascots ever. #DropOffDay" Rob wrote with a picture of Stanford's dancing tree (which is a palm tree this year) wearing high purple socks.
