The USA network is cleaning house and moving forward! The studio announced today, Oct. 2, that one of its new shows would be getting a second season while the other one is over. Satisfaction will be getting a second season while Rush has been canned.
Satisfaction, a show that desplays a twist on the modern marriage, has seemingly survived the chopping block and will get a 10-episode pick up for its sophomore season. The show portrays how cheating might be able to save a marriage and how a couple can stay afloat by seeing other people. It stars Matt Passmore as Neil Truman and Stephanie Szostak as his wife Grace. Other stars include Blair Redford as Simon, Grace's lover and Katherine LaNasa as Adriana.
"Satisfaction sparked a cultural conversation about modern love and marriage in today's world," Chris McCumber, president of USA told The Hollywood Reporter.
"During its 10-episode freshman run, the drama averaged 2.21 million total viewers when factoring in seven days of delayed viewing and posting double-digit gains among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic when adding DVR returns," THR reported.
Sadly, Rush, wasn ot as lucky. The series centers(ed) around Dr. William P. Rush (played by Tom Ellis), an outside-the-box doctor who doesn't ask questions and helps clients in a discreet manner in the Los Angeles area. Rush was announced as canceled earlier today.
The network has yet to comment on its other show's pick-ups or cancellations at this point in time, but it is looking good for the crime show, Graceland, which ended its sophomore season this year.
"Additionally I hear the network is close to giving a third-season order to the Jeff Eastin's drama Graceland, produced by Fox TV Studios. There is no decision on USA's first-year comedy Playing House," Deadline reported.
