Get ready for one of the biggest TV conspiracy theories to be proved correct. While it has been rumored for a while that all of the seasons of American Horror Story are interconnected with one another, it seems that creator Ryan Murphy has just spoken out for the first time and confirmed this news.
The rumors of the season being intertwined started to make headlines again once the character of Pepper from American Horror Story: Asylum was confirmed to be joining the cast of Freak Show. And then, just the other day, we reported that Lily Rabe, who played Sister Mary Eunice during the second season, would also be making an appearance during the current season.
Well, according to Entertainment Weekly, who sat down with the AHS creator Ryan Murphy, it was always the show's plan to connect the dots between seasons.
"The interesting thing about doing a show like this is every season is incredibly its own story and its own beginning, middle and end. Its own journey," Muprhy explained. "But we have always from the very beginning in the intertwining mythologies and how things connect. This is the first year where we begin to tell you that season two is connected to season four which is connected to season one."
"They're all connected. We're just beginning to tell you how they're connected," the creator stated. "They're all very separate but there's clues every season that we're now telling you how the different worlds are intertwined."
E! News also reported on the connectedness between the seasons, and Ryan explained that he hopes by the end of the series, fans will be able to see how everything intertwines.
"People have started to write articles about that. A lot of their hypotheses have been completely right on. That's the fun of the show," Ryan revealed. "Hopefully by the end of the run, be it 10 years or 15 years, people will be able to stand back and be able to say, "Oh that was connected to x."
