If Jameis Winston had little attitude, it's clear his stock would match the ones held by Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. However, with his "I'm too good for life" persona, there's a legitimate chance of his stock falling faster than the fall from grace that the likes of Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow suffered. The Florida State QB is a Heisman Trophy winner, yet he might be on the brink of becoming "undraftable" in the 2015 NFL draft, with an agent hitting out at the "cocky" star. Can Winston save his career before it's began, or is he as good as done?
The QB has all of the assets needed to be successful in the NFL, yet his attitude is one already for too big for the NFL, according to many. With rape, shoplifting and campus rule-break allegations to his name, just who would take the star? With the minor incidents surrounding Manziel, he watched his draft stock fall, going towards the end of the first round. Similarly, Tebow's hype was too much for the NFL, and now he can't find a new team. The story seems all too similar with Jameis, and one can wonder, with a horrid past which NFL team would welcome that drama or that distraction?
An agent revealed, "It's been a topic of conversation at the agency. Everyone around the table feels it's best to be hands off. Personally, I wouldn't touch him." Another agent insisted "I wouldn't want him playing with my guys — too much of a distraction. He's a great athlete but he has too much going on off the field. We don't want that kind of drama around here."
However, another insider insisted "Someone will sign him because there's money to be made ... plain and simple." Perhaps they're right, but could he fall several rounds because of his inability to behave during his college career? Teams will likely wonder how he will cope with his new-found fame and fortune if he was to become a high-round draft pick.
