Gilmore Girls and Parenthood star Lauren Graham has revealed that she cried during the upcoming series finale of Parenthood... and knows that the final episode will prompt plenty of drinking in the Parenthood 'Drink when they cry' drinking game. The beloved Gilmore Girls actress also revealed on Late Night With Seth Meyers why she wasn't cast in Friends and that she's working on a new pilot about a late night talk show host, which is based on someone "handsome" and "likable"... i.e. host Seth Meyers!

Speaking of the series finale of Parenthood, Lauren revealed that "it was really difficult," but because she knew it was the end of the series "it also really nice to be able to say goodbye...and I've mainly been on shows where they just yank it. Every scene you were really feeling sentimental."
As for how it ends, Lauren said that it was very emotional. "We had a group scene where a lot of us are playing baseball, and because of that it ended up being this very family feeling."
"But anyway, we had this big scene in this baseball field and it was like 'and that's a series wrap' for most everyone... but then I had to keep working for another three hours and had my series wrap with a bunch of strangers!"
As for how she discovered that Gilmore Girls had been cancelled, she explained that "We shot the last episode and we had no idea," and it turns out that it took her agent calling her at a restaurant "like I was in a 40s movie. I went to the house phone and he goes 'It's cancelled'. And that's how I found out."
"It's better to be able to say goodbye I guess."
She also talked about the Parenthood drinking game and her aversion to social media: check out what happened next below:
She also revealed that the last season of Parenthood has some very special guest stars: her family. It will feature, she said, "the very famous my dad" and the "renowned, 'my brother'."
"On Gilmore Girls I had so many family members on because the show went on for so long, and all my cousins are very egotistical about it. But my dad has been in almost every show I've done," the star said.
Of course, that has its drawbacks too, as Lauren explained that her grandma wanted to know why I wouldn't 'Get on the Friends show' because 'that one seemed real popular'."
Lauren also talked about how she's obsessed "with late night," and the idea behind her new pilot was that "it was curious for me why it's been difficult to see a woman in this job."
"But," she revealed, "the thing you need to know about my show is that you are the male lead," pointing to Seth.
"Well," she explained, "you're the prototype; like when you give them 'We'd like Meryl Streep for this part'. but the character is described as 'Handsome', 'Likable', and 'Harvard educated', and he's the lead of the show."
Lauren also talked about her strange obsession with David Letterman, and how she'd stay home to watch him during summers in her adolescence. Check it out below:
Later in the show, Lauren also delivered a massive slap down on Seth and Rain Wilson complaining about shaving. Do you agree, ladies?
