Although we think that the rumored Netflix series based on the popular RPG video game series would've been pretty great, it wouldn't be great unless Nintendo was ready to do it. According to a new interview with Time, Iwata and Nintendo are not ready for this venture just yet.
"As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information," Iwata raid, responding to the rumors that popped up in February of 2015, according to Gamma Squad.
Before Iwata's statement this week, a Nintendo spokesperson addressed the initial live-action series rumor, stating that the company "doesn't comment on rumors and speculation." It looks like we did get a response after all, but it wasn't what fans of the idea were hoping for.
