This week, everyone's favorite nerd, Simon Pegg wrote a long post on his personal blog in order to clear up rumors started from comments he made about "Nerd Culture" and the film industry. His point was that serious movies can't bring in money comparable to box office numbers of superhero flicks, or the like. Whatever his point, the actor and current co-writer of the highly anticipated Star Trek 3 also might have confirmed previous rumors of the 2016 film's title! "It is a kind of dumbing down, in a way, because it's taking our focus away from real-world issues," Pegg told Radio Times in a new interview (via iO9). "Films used to be about challenging, emotional journeys or moral questions that might make you walk away and re-evaluate how you felt about ... whatever."
Though Pegg admits that he's a fan of the films that he's calling out, the actor felt that he needed to explain his comments a bit more. Taking to his personal Blog, Pegg detailed what he really meant in the interview.
