Snapchat allows people to send messages, photos and videos that disappear after ten seconds. The popularity of the service prompted Facebook to step up and make a $3-billion acquisition offer for the company. But Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel thinks the company is worth more with app purchases and advertising are potential revenue for the mobile messaging service, thus declining the offer. Read More »
Chris Hardwick's show @midnight has been picked up for 40 more weeks from Comedy Central. The show had an apparently successful trial run that ended on Thursday and will kick off at the beginning of January, the same time The Daily Show and The Colbert Report come back after their break at the end of the year. Jack Black and Tim Robbins are planning to join the HBO team with the new series The Brink, produced by Jerry Weintraub, Jay Roach and Roberto Benabib.
